1. When a witness appears he is examined ' in chief by the party at whose instance the witness has been called and thereafter the other party has a right to cross-examine the witness .
   जब साक्षी हाजिर होता है तो जिस पक्ष ने उसे बुलाया है , वह उसकी मुख्य परीक्षा करता है ; इसके पश्चात दूसरे पक्ष को उसकी प्रतिपरीक्षा करने का अधिकार है .
2. The king normally attended to the ordinary cases in Darbar every day while important cases which required evidence and witnesses , cross-examination and further investigation and deliberation were kept for a fixed day in the week .
   साधारणतया राजा प्रत्येक दिन दरबार में साधारण वादों की सुनवाई करता था पर जिन महत्वपूर्ण वादों में साक्ष्य और साक्षियों , प्रतिपरीक्षा और आगे अन्वेषण तथा विचार करने की आवश्यकता होती थी , उनकी सुनवई सप्ताह के एक नियत दिन की जाती थी .
