   1930 में इखवान भले ही पराजित हो गया हो परन्तु इसका सोचने का ढंग अब भी जीवित है और भव्य तथा भ्रष्ट सउदी राज्य के लिए अब कहीं बड़ा प्रतिपक्ष है। इस विकल्प का पौरूष 1979 में उस समय दिखा जब इखवान समर्थक हिंसक गुट ने मक्का में विशाल मस्जिद की घेराबन्दी कर ली। बड़े स्वरूप में 1980 में अफगानिस्तान में सोवियत संघ के विरूद्ध जिहाद में इखवान की भावना प्रबल रूप से थी। 1996 - 2001 के मधय अफगानिस्तान में तालिबान शासन के दौरान इखवान ने शासन का स्वरूप ग्रहण किया।
