The standard type of this consists of a gauge filled with mercury , a rubber cuff into which air can be pumped and a hollow rubber ball to pump air .    इसमें एक मरकरी या पारा भरी गाज होती है , एक रबड़ कफ होता है जिसमें हवा भरी जा सकती है और हवा भरने के लिए रबड़ की एक खोखली बॉल होती है.रक़्तदाब या रक़्तचाप मापने के लिए कफ को ऊपरी बाजू पर लपेट दिया जाता है और स्टैथोस्कोप उसके नीचे , धमनी के ऊपर रखा जाता है जिससे , उससे होकर गुजरने वाले रक़्त के स्पंदन को सुना जा सके .
