The water-scorpions Ranatra and Laccotrephes have their fore legs resembling the powerful raptorial claws of a scorpion ; they even have a ' tail ' which is really a siphon , with a fringe of fine hairs at the tip to help the bug float freely just below the water surface and at the same time taps the atmospheric air for breathing .
