State of Bombay -LRB- AIR 1961 SC 99 -RRB- , the Supreme Court held that it is open to the Governor to grant a full pardon at any time even during the pendency of the case in the Supreme Court , but the Governor cannot so exercise his power of suspension of the sentence for the period when the Supreme Court is seized of the case .
