   डेमोक्रेट लोगों ने भी इस मामले में कोई कम तेजी नहीं दिखाई। अगले ही दिन 5 सितम्बर को डेमोक्रेट राष्ट्रीय अधिवेशन में प्रतिनिधियों को बताया गया, “ राष्ट्रपति ओबामा जेरूसलम को इजरायल की राजधानी के रूप में स्वीकार करते हैं और साथ ही हमारे दल का मंच भी” । एंटोनियो विलारेगोसा ने उनसे ध्वनिमत से इसी आशय का संशोधन मंच के लिये स्वीकार करने को कहा साथ ही अन्य संशोधन भी।

McFadden instructed Villaraigosa, “You've got to rule and then you've got to let them do what they're going to do.” Right before he begins to speak, she repeats her order: “Rule!”
    यह कहानी 4 सितम्बर को सामने आयी जब Washington Free Beacon ने बताया कि, “ वर्ष 2012 के डेमोक्रेट पार्टी के मंच पर जेरूसलम का उल्लेख नहीं हुआ” । यह विषय समाचार इसलिये बना क्योंकि 1995 में एक अमेरिकी कानून के अंतर्गत यह निर्धारित हुआ है कि , “ जेरूसलम को इजरायल की राजधानी के रूप में स्वीकार किया जाना चाहिये” , अमेरिका के दोनों प्रमुख दलों ने अपने सभी मंचों से इस बिंदु को बार बार दुहराया। उदाहरण के लिये इस वर्ष रिपब्लिकन के मंच से “ जेरूसलम को इजरायल की राजधानी कहा गया” ।
