   आपराधिक न्यायालयों का व्यय लोक निधियों में से उठाया जाता है , क़्योंकि विधि में ऐसा कोई उपबंध नहीं है कि अभियुक़्त या दोषी व्यक्ति से खर्च वसूल किया जाए , और जुर्माने के रूप में वसूल की गई स्वल्प राशियों में से न्यायपालिका , कर्मचारीवृंद , न्यायालयों , अभियोजकों , पुलिस अधिकारियों आदि के खर्च की पूर्ति नहीं की जा सकती .
