   यदि अप्रबल जीन ( अ ) में उत्परिवर्तन होता है जो कुछ ही व्यक्तियों तक सीमित हो तो उत्परिवर्तित जीनधारी व्यक्ति का आनुवंशिक रूप ( आअ ' ) होगा तथा ( आअ ) और ( आअ ' ) आनुवंशिक रूपों के दो व्यक्ति समागम से प्रजनन करते हैं तो इनकी एक चौथाई संतानें दोहरी अप्रभावी समयुग़्मज ( अ ' अ ' ) होंगी तथा इस उत्परिवर्तित जीन अ ' द्वारा उत्पन्न होने वाली व्याधि उनमें प्रकट होगी .
