एक दशक के विवेकपूर्ण लोकतांत्रिक शासन के उपरांत अनेक भावी संकट , आर्थिक, सीरिया और तुर्की के अल्पसंख्यक के साथ ऐसे संकट हैं जो कि एरडोगन को लोकतंत्र की सडक कार से उतरने के अवसर की ओर संकेत करते हैं। जैसे जैसे एकेपी अपने वास्तविक स्वरूप में आ रहा है और तुर्की गणतंत्र पश्चिम को अस्वीकार कर उत्पीडक, जड और शत्रुवत शासन के चरित्र को दिखा रहा है जो कि मुस्लिम मध्य पूर्व का चरित्र है। देखने की बात तो यह है कि पश्चिम के नेता परिवर्तन को भाँप पर इसी अनुरूप आचरण करते हैं या फिर अतातुर्क की दृष्टि के उसी देश को पकडे रहते हैं जिसका कि अब अस्तित्व ही नहीं है।
