   ये प्रयास फ्रांस की तीस वर्ष की तुष्टीकरण की पराकाष्ठा हैं और जैसा कि नोरबर्ट लिपजीजिक ने अपने आलोचनात्मक विश्लेषण में कहा कि इससे इस्लामवादियों और आतंकवादियों को बड़ी विजय प्राप्त हुई है. लिपजीजिक की दृष्टि में फ्रांस धिम्मी की तरह व्यवहार कर रहा है(वे यहूदी और मुसलमान जो मुस्लिम सम्प्रभुता स्वीकार कर लेते हैं और बदले में उनकी रक्षा होती है.). फ्रांस ने सार्वजनिक रूप से स्पष्ट कर दिया है कि इसका स्तर धिम्मी का है और यह इस्लामवादियों के समक्ष समर्पण को तैयार है. इसके बदले में वे चाहते हैं कि आतंकवादी गतिविधियों से उनकी रक्षा की जाये.
